Mission

It is the objective of the International Women's Club of Philadelphia (IWCP) to welcome women of all cultures to the Philadelphia area and to promote friendship, cooperation and understanding. It is our mission to help them adjust to a new culture and to meet others of similar backgrounds and interests.

From the President

Dear IWCP Members,

Welcome to our new membership year! I hope it will be another active and interesting year, with opportunities to make new friends and meet the old ones.

A special warm welcome to the new members. Many, many thanks to Jacqueline Yates for organizing the Annual Tea, to the board and to the many IWCP members who organized activities enjoyed by all.

Thank you very much, hope you'll enjoy the rest of the summer and I am looking forward to seeing you soon,

Anca M. Constantinescu

General Information

History

The club was founded in 1989 by a group of women who experienced the challenges of life in a new land. They wanted newcomers to benefit from the knowledge of those who had successfully made the transition.

The IWCP is a non-profit social organization that is governed by a Board of Directors. It has no political or religious affiliations but is linked to sister organizations in the U.S. and elsewhere through membership in Welcome Clubs International, Washington, D.C.

Members are encouraged to volunteer their organizational skills, to propose and host activities, and to organize events.

English is the official language. Though there are regular events held for German, Italian, French and Spanish speakers.
